Niobium plays a role of solid solution strengthening and carbide precipitation strengthening in high temperature alloy to improve yield strength and surface stability of high temperature alloy. The weight of niobium is one of the lighter metals in refractory metals and one of the factors of high temperature alloy. Niobium nickel alloy, as an additive of nickel base superalloy, is mainly used to produce 718 alloy. Niobium can be added into permanent magnetic alloy to improve its coercivity.
Niobium alloys, mainly nickel-based superalloys, are used as non-ferrous alloys. Often called VQNi - Nb. Its typical components are: Nb58.54%, Ta0.31%, A10.39%, Ti0.02%, Si0.15%, Mn0.03%, C0.03%, P0.028%, S0.004%, Fe0.53%, Ni39.18%. Because the impurity required is low, niobium concentrate cannot be used. Instead, high purity Nb2O5 can be obtained by hydrometallurgical treatment. The high-purity Nb2O5 is powdery, and the ball formation mechanism is used to form the ball with a diameter of about 2mm. After drying, it is used to improve the yield of niobium. If niobium nickel alloy is smelted with nickel oxide as raw material, it is smelted with aluminum heat, and potassium chlorate or sodium chlorate as heating agent (the operation process is the same with ferric niobium). If electrolytic nickel is used as raw material, electrolytic nickel is first added to the bottom of the furnace, and slagging agent (lime) is then added to the top. The molten metal nickel is electrified and then cut off after heating, and the mixture of Nb2O5, aluminum and lime is added. When the reaction is over, stir and cook.
Niobium manganese alloy, China baotou iron and steel co., LTD. The slag and iron ore are smelted in the blast furnace to obtain iron water containing 0.7%-0.8% Nb. The iron water is put into the side blowing converter and the slag containing nb2o54.5 % ~ 6.5% is obtained. The converter slag was added into the arc furnace to melt, and some metal iron and phosphorus were removed from the slag. Its cent is divided into: Nb10% ~ 15%, Mn40% ~ 60%, Si0.5% ~ 2%, C6% ~ 7%, P1.5% ~ 2%. This alloy is used for niobium treatment of carbon steel.
