The processing method of small-size titanium and titanium alloy rod and wire belongs to the field of metal material heat treatment. The method uses a customized two-roll mill single or multiple units in series to cold-roll titanium and titanium alloy. The pass is located on the same axis, the two-stick mill is arranged in single or multiple series, and the rod and wire are rolled by a motor driven roll rotation. The production process of the invention has low labor intensity and does not require auxiliary lubricants, and the on-site environment is pollution-free. The rolling process does not need to heat the matching heating furnace, does not need the matching drawing machine traction, low energy consumption, less surface defects, no lubricant pollution layer. The finished product does not need a peeling machine, and can directly produce non-polluting layer bright rod wire material. The product has the characteristics of high yield, high surface quality and high processing efficiency.
The processing of titanium and titanium alloy rod wire with diameter of φ10mm or less is generally made of raw material rod billets with a diameter of 10~ 15 by continuous multi-pass hot rolling. The main production methods are as follows:
1 Fixed die drawing hot processing: raw rod billet peeling to remove oxidation layer to eliminate hot rolling defects and show bright metal surface, first heating the oxidation surface with heating furnace (oxidation layer is conducive to coating lubricant), using heating furnace heating, lubricant lubrication, through different pass of fixed die, drawing machine to produce different diameters of rod wire. According to the size of the processing rate, the product needs to be repeatedly annealed to eliminate the processing stress hardening, and the surface peeling to eliminate the surface defects generated during the drawing process. The final product needs to be skinned and ground on its surface, or acid-alkali washing to remove the lubricant contamination layer or oxidation layer on the surface of the rod wire in order to produce a bright rod wire product.
2 roll die cold drawing process: mainly for raw rod billet with Φ≤10mm to remove oxidation layer to eliminate hot rolling defects bright metal surface, using roll die and wire drawing machine, wire drawing machine pulling rod wire to drive the roll die rotation to produce rod wire of different diameters. In the processing process of the product, according to the size of the processing rate, it is necessary to repeatedly remove the vacuum fire to eliminate the processing stress hardening to produce bright rod wire products.
3 The more advanced high-line finishing mill adopts large-size rod billet (diameter Φ≥100mm) to continuously roll the titanium and titanium alloy rod wire through hot processing. The rod wire processed by this way needs to go through machine pickling (removing surface oxidation and defects), grinding, polishing, acid-alkali washing, surface treatment and other processes to complete the finished product with bright surface.
