Like tungsten-copper, tungsten-molybdenum and tungsten-nickel-iron alloys, tungsten-rhenium alloy (W-Re) is also a kind of high proportion tungsten-base alloy. It has a series of excellent properties of metal tungsten and metal rhenium, and is widely used in aerospace, aviation, navigation, military, national defense and other fields. 1. Definition
It is a kind of solid solution reinforced alloy material which is made by powder metallurgy or smelting method with refractory tungsten as hard phase and metal rhenium as bonding phase. Generally, the rhenium content in alloys is 3%, 5%, 10%, 25% and 26%.
2. Performance
It has the characteristics of high melting point, high strength, high hardness, high plasticity, high recrystallization temperature, high resistivity, high thermal potential value, low steam pressure, low electron energy and low brittle transition temperature. Compared with pure tungsten, tungsten-rhenium alloy has higher resistivity, recrystallization temperature, better mechanical properties, ductility and weldability.
3. Classification
According to the rhenium content, it can be divided into low content W-Re alloy (Re≤5%) and high content W-Re alloy (Re≥15%).
According to the different preparation methods, it can be divided into melting W-Re alloy and powder metallurgy W-Re alloy.
According to the different strengthening methods, melting W-Re alloy can be divided into solid solution strengthening W-Re alloy and precipitation strengthening W-Re alloy. Powder metallurgy W-Re alloys can be divided into solid solution strengthening W-Re alloys, dispersion strengthening W-Re alloys and precipitation strengthening W-Re alloys.
4. Manufacturing
1) Preparation of doped tungsten-rhenium powder: tungsten powder is mixed with ammonium rhenate solution to obtain the doped tungsten-rhenium infiltrate, and the infiltrate is dried to obtain the doped tungsten-rhenium powder; 2) Tungsten-rhenium mixed powder for reduction; 3) suppression; 4) pre-sintering; 5) Sintering, alloy products can be prepared. The method is simple to operate, the distribution of rhenium doped in the alloy is uniform, and the material consistency is good.
