Niobium strip is one of the main materials used in the fabrication of CCFL tube electrode. Compared with molybdenum strip, niobium strip has higher deep-drawing ratio and more suitable for automatic production. CCFL as LCD backlight source is currently solving the problem of low brightness and short service life, the popularity of backlight manufacturers has reached 31%, according to evaluation in the next 5 years, CCFL using niobium electrode head will account for 50C/market total. The global demand for niobium belt reached 7000 tons in 2007, which is a long life cycle product in the electronic industry, and the influencing factor is mainly the price of materials. At present, due to the small size of niobium raw material, the niobium strip produced has the problems of short length, unstable elongation performance and low grain size.
The refractory metal niobium strip prepared by the invention has the properties of high elongation and high grain size grade, and the thickness range is 0.1 ~ 0.254mm. By using high temperature forging method, the billet can be dynamically recrystallized and recovered in the forging process through free forging and rapid shape changing method, and the original coarse grain of the billet can be fined finally. The grains in the microstructure of the finished strip were obtained due to the high processing rate at the beginning of the rolling process
The strip with high elongation and grain size can be obtained by full refinement and heat treatment.
The long niobium strip with 30~41% elongation, 8.5~10 grain size and excellent deep drawing performance can be developed into electrode heads for CCFL with diameter of 1.6mm and height of 8mm.
