Vanadium Foil & Strip Introduction
The main content of vanadium foil is vanadium having similar structural properties with V. Vanadium is a silvery white rare metal with high melting points. V, niobium, tantalum, tungsten, molybdenum are all called refractory metals. V owns features of ductility, rigidity, non-magnetism. It is not easily oxidized in air and can dissolve in hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid and chloroazotic acid. Vanadium is not easily corroded, either. V is quite stable in alkali, sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid.
Vanadium Foil & Strip Process
Vanadium ingots are processed by a series of fabrications, making the vanadium with certain width and length. First, put the V ingots in the high temperature furnace to melt. Then, pour the vanadium fluid into the mould. During the cooling process, gradually V fluid is formed into vanadium rings. To further enhance vanadium foil quality, V rings need to be hot rolled to certain temperature.
Through rolling process, the vanadium rings are quickly extruded and become thinner and wider. After that, vanadium strip surface will be cleaned. Finally finished vanadium foil is cut and packed based on each customer’s request.
